Arrival in Salcombe, waiting to board the ferry. Our accomodation, B& B Waverley House WW2 History at Slapton Sands, Stewart with Sherman tank, Day 1, Why do we always start with climbing? Start Point Lighthouse just visible in the distance, Beesands, the bright white beach in the distance is where we started, Arthur giving a fine impression of a mountain goat! Back of Start Point, lonesome Jim West of Start Point, where Devon granite meets the Atlantic. Lunch on East Prawle beach below Maelcombe House Lunch over, let's start climbing again. Prawle Point Lifeguard lookout, this coast is dangerous. West of Prawle Point Mother Nature makes gardens! Not a lot of uppin' and downin' left to do then. Salcombe Town in sight, nearly there. The good ship Felicity transported us to The Ferry Boat Inn. Day 2 start, The drowned valley right of the beach was the start point. Our destination, Burg Island, looking suitably moody.
